American Kestrel (Falco sparverius)

Odin was found with three nestmates after falling from their nest in the eaves of a barn. He had a bacterial infection in his right eye causing it to grow improperly and lose sight.

Odin has the distinctive blue-gray patches on his wings, and bold black spots on his chest that identify him as a male kestrel. This is unique since most raptors have no color difference between males and females.
