Volunteer at the Glen

Volunteers are the heart of the Glen. They move our mission forward by offering support in vital areas. If you would like to offer your support, contact us today: programs@glenhelenassociation.org

Current Volunteer Needs:

  • Trail Ambassador - Hike the trails (and follow the rules)! Greet visitors, answer questions, provide directions, and call in any trail obstructions to our Ranger. Families welcome, minors must be accompanied by a guardian.

  • Nature Shop - Greet visitors and assist with purchases. Provide information and conduct membership sales.

  • Bird Taxis -  Assist with transporting injured birds to and from the Raptor Center.

  • Land Stewards - Help remove invasive species and promote a healthy, balanced ecosystem in the Glen.  Individuals, groups, and organizations are welcome.  Must be able to work in various environmental conditions and over rough terrain.

  • Animal Caretakers - Help us care for the Trailside Museum ambassador animals and/or birds that visit our bird feeders. Weekly 30-minute commitment to care for and feed our feathered and/or scaled friends.

  • Maintenance Assistance - Help us put our best foot forward: assist our maintenance crew with general repairs, painting needs, moving furniture, coordinating and delivering supplies, and more.

  • Administrative Support - Offer behind-the-scenes support to our staff. Regular needs include flyer/brochure delivery, assisting with our latest mailing, photography/videography opportunities, and more.

  • Join a Committee - The Glen Helen Association needs you! Our committees are the driving force behind most of the activities at Glen Helen. For example, the Membership Committee does the legwork to advance our cause by encouraging membership and offering membership events; the Property Committee champion stewardship efforts, inspired by ecology, the protection of species at risk and all matters related to biodiversity. There are several committees to choose from. Committee members have a unique opportunity to play a critical role in development and growth at Glen Helen.
