Trailside Museum

Fall Hours: Wed 1-4pm, Sat 1-4pm

Hours of operation vary seasonally and with volunteer availability.

The Trailside Museum is the Nature Center for Glen Helen Nature Preserve. Staffed by naturalist volunteers, this unique building features hands on exhibits celebrating native plants and animals of the region. The Trailside Museum also hosts our live resident snake, turtle and native fish. Visitors can match mammal furs, count an ancient oak's tree rings, play native animal I Spy, and enjoy the bird viewing area lined with active bird feeders.

Trailside Volunteer Opportunities

Trailside Museum volunteers assist with greeting visitors and caring for ambassador animals, as well as leading guided hikes and educational programs/events for visitors of all ages. One time and ongoing opportunities are available for individuals 16 and older, as well as families, community organizations, and Girl/Boy Scout Troops.
